Day 271 | Three Instrumentals from Low

Three instrumentals from Low. I don’t have much to write about these songs in themselves, but the video clip is interesting for a few reasons:
It reminds me that in the Bowie concerts I attended, I noticed that amidst the greatest hits and new songs Bowie would often insert a few more obscure ones, presumably for his more hardcore fans. I think that’s what he’s doing here. To some extent he’s performing them for himself- this clip is from 2002- the shock value has worn off since the songs debuted in 1977– so they must have been meaningful to him. One Christmas he complied many of his instrumentals into an album he gave out as gifts to friends, later to be mass-produced as All Saints. Album: Low

Note from 2018:  I’m not sure this video clip is the same one I used in 2016.  It seems longer, and I have to admit I did not watch it all the way through.
