Day 270 | Cosmic Dancer

For certain people, the idea of Bowie singing “Cosmic Dancer” with Morrissey is roughly equivalent to the idea that human civilization has achieved all it can. I’m not that far along, but I do think it’s worth hearing despite the poor recording quality. Actually one of the things that takes away from the music is the crowd reaction, which is so enthusiastic as to be endearing. This was, of course originally performed by T-Rex, the band that occupied so much of Bowie’s mental space at the start of the glam era. This is probably meant as a tribute, but as Bowie viewed Marc Bolan as a rival, it also might be a kind of victory dance.
