Day 268 | Knock On Wood

This is the standout song from Bowie’s first official live album. The concerts from which the album was recorded came between Diamond Dogs and Young Americans, when Bowie was shifting from glam to disco, or as it was called at the time, plastic soul. “Knock on Wood” seems like a throwback. Soul, yes, but of the type that was popular a decade earlier. That’s ok, it works anyway, especially on this otherwise suboptimal album. Album: David Live
