Day 203 | Don’t Look Down

In the late 1980’s I thought of the album, Tonight, as Bowie’s coolest. By “coolest,” I meant it was his most relaxed, smooth sound. These are not normal qualities of Bowie songs and I might stick by that assertion three decades later. Songs like this are part of the reason. The album didn’t get good reviews at the time and seems to have fared even worse as time passes, but I still think it is cool and highly listenable. Like four other songs from the album, Iggy Pop had a hand in writing this song. He did his own version, too. The audio link to Bowie’s version is actually slightly different than the album version.
