Day 148 | Can’t Help Thinking About Me

This is Bowie’s first song. It is 50 years old. Especially compared to some of the hippie-dippi stuff he experimented with shortly thereafter, I actually think this sounds pretty good. The performance in the video comes many years later. Bowie did not make this song a regular part of his concert playlist, but I think he performed this around the time he was playing with an idea to produce an album called Toy, featuring new performances of some of his very early songs. That album was partially created and exists as a bootleg but never officially released. I suspect it will be at some point.
