This is one of several songs from Earthling that ages very well. It didn’t make much of an impression the first several times I heard it, but for whatever reason I gained a greater appreciation from the live version on the A Reality Tour live album (on which Bowie introduces it as “the Letter” rather than “Battle for Britain”).
