Young Andy covers “The Man Who Sold the World”

One of the things I like about sorting through weekly new posts of Bowie covers is that they range from high-quality, produced videos by real bands, to concert footage to guys in their basement with a guitar. This one falls into the latter category. Who is Young Andy? No clue. He has a YouTube page with little information about himself and aside from that I can’t find anything more about him. But he has an acoustic guitar and knows how to perform “The Man Who Sold the World.”

Andy, I think lives up to his self-designation as being “young” in that he categorizes this as a cover of both Bowie and Nirvana. Nirvana, of course, covered Bowie. I recall Bowie feigning indignation when, at the time the Nirvana cover was getting a lot of play, people supposedly came up to him complimenting his cover of their song. In reality, Nirvana breathed new life into the song, which Bowie returned to his live playlist afterwards. But its Bowie’s song.
