What are the “Leon Sessions”?

This video discussion is something new for my blog– it is a very short form video focused on a single topic– the “Leon Sessions” (aka ‘the Leon Suites”)– a great unreleased body of work from David Bowie, related to, but distinct from the album 1. Outside. I was thinking about doing a post explaining what the “Leon Sessions” are after coming across several references to them– and in a few cases making references to them myself — while realizing that a lot of people might not know what they are. The topic came up during my last interview with musician and educator Marc Lowe, whose work has appeared many times on this blog. So, I thought it would be interesting to do a very short video in which he explains. Marc jumped in with both feet and produced this and a companion video that I’ll post next week. He added visuals and– music (music!) The whole thing is about ten minutes, so if you aren’t a fan of long videos, this might be right for you.
