Speaking of, “The Jean Genie,” here’s Sweet’s “Blockbuster!” (1973)

Right around the same time Bowie released, “The Jean Genie,” another glam-band, “Sweet,” released “Blockbuster!”  The two songs contain unmistakable similarities, however both Sweet and Bowie insisted that was coincidence.  I came across this video of Sweet performing their song on, Top of the Pops, and between the way the band looks and the way their performance was filmed, it seems like this song is even more similar to “The Jean Genie” (just ;look at yesterday’s video).  To be clear, this is NOT a Bowie song, but its hard not to watch this and think of Bowie.
