Motörhead sings “Heroes”

I’m not sure I have ever heard a Motörhead song (interestingly, my word processing programs know to put the umlaut over the second “o”).  I was under the impression the band was a thrash-metal band, which really isn’t my thing.  I know the band has a big following, and the death of lead-singer Lemmy was a blow to his many followers.

Anyway, I was surprised to come across this rather faithful cover of “Heroes.”  If anything, it is slightly softer than Bowie’s original (if you think about it, Bowie does a lot of shrieking in the song).  Lemmy changes some of the words…not exactly clear why, their essential meaning is pretty much the same.  But overall, this is a good cover.  If you didn’t know it was Motörhead, you probably wouldn’t have guessed.
