“Its Only Rock ‘N’ Roll (But I Like it)” (1973)

How did I not know that Bowie was involved with this Rolling Stones’ hit? Well, that’s because Bowie isn’t on the album version that I’ve heard for most of my life. But it turns out that he sang on the first recording of the song, written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards for Ronnie Wood before Wood was part of the Stones. Bowie sang backup. In the attached audio recording, it’s pretty clear that somebody is singing backup, but I wouldn’t have known that’s Bowie. But apparently, that’s Bowie. And hey, I like it.
