Day 95 | Sister Midnight

Iggy Pop first did this song on his Bowie-produced album, The Idiot.  Shortly thereafter Bowie took the music but used completely different lyrics in “Red Money” on Lodger.  I don’t know what either song is about, but I’m glad Bowie got around to performing this version, which I like better.  This isn’t the only time Bowie did that kind of thing- his better known “Scream Like a Baby” uses the same music as the obscure “I Am A Laser” performed by the little known band, The Astronettes.  Album: A Reality Tour (live album)
