Day 65 | Moonage Daydream

This is one of those great songs I like because of how it sounds. I also find it unintentionally funny because it was supposed to be futuristic, but today sounds extremely dated. For one, if you think about it, we’re actually well past the Moon Age. Second, phrases like “freak out,” “far out” and “lay the real thing on me” must have sounded youthful and countercultural at the time- today they sound like 70s-speak. Anyway, all that’s part of the song’s charm. Album: The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
