Day 54 | 5:15 the Angels Have Gone

I read somewhere that Bowie’s songs often evoke something that isn’t explicitly described by the lyrics…or something like that. 5:15, which came out shortly after 9/11 seems to be about that day, but isn’t.  Nonetheless as a piece of art that helps (or at least helped me) process the tragedy, it works. Whatever the originally intended purpose, the song captures the anxiety, uncertainty and sadness of the time. Album: Heathen
