Day 5 | Lazarus
On the one-week anniversary of the release of the album, “Blackstar,” I’m going today with the song that apparently has become the most watched video in history. The lyrics and image of a very sick looking Bowie singing from his deathbed are beyond eerie. What you won’t pick up on is that the striped outfit he’s wearing in the parts of the video where he’s standing and often writing is identical to what he wore on the back cover of the album Station to Station. He was writing in that image too– drawing a kabbalist tree of life featuring a letter “D” in the middle. Figure that out! Album: Blackstar
Note: I posted the aforementioned video in my review of the album, “Blackstar,” so instead I’m posting here a video of Michael C. Hall, star of the original stage production, singing, “Lazarus.”
