Day 320 | Spanish version of Day In, Day Out

I’m posting this song to mark the passing of Fidel Castro. I’m not posting it to honor Castro, because after all he was a dictator. I can’t think of any Bowie songs that are actually about Castro or Cuba. This song’s tenuous connection is that Bowie is singing in Spanish. A few years ago I heard a radio story about how the story of the 20th Century can be told through the lives of Castro, Queen Elizabeth and Hugh Hefner, all of whom were the same age. The other thought I had when I learned Castro died is that he lived long enough to see relations warm with the United States but not long enough to see Donald Trump as President. Castro came to power when Eisenhower was president. Quite a change.
