Day 232 | Growing Up and I’m Fine

Growing Up and I’m Fine.  This song will sound familiar even if you have never heard it.  It was one of a few songs written by Bowie for Mick Ronson’s first solo album.  Ronson was Bowie’s Ziggy-era guitarist, and you can tell.  This sounds like the Ziggy-era Bowie singing a song from that period.   This clip is supposedly, and probably is, Bowie singing a demo – he wrote it but did not perform it on the album.  But Ronson tried to imitate Bowie on his version, so I’m not entirely sure the voice here is Bowie himself.  Album: Slaughter on 10th Avenue
