Day 159 | Speed of Life

I don’t remember the first time I listened to Low or what I was expecting, but I’m guessing I realized I would be in for something different when it kicked off with this instrumental song. Unlike “Warsawa” and others, “Speed of Life” does not even employ Bowie’s voice to make wordless sounds. Although I certainly was not aware of it when it was originally released, I am pretty sure the use of synthesizers was also unusual at the time. While not one of the Bowie songs I keep on my playlists, it sets the table for a truly innovative album. Album: Low
