Day 158 | Stay

Day 158 Song: Stay I sometimes think of the albums, Low, and “Heroes” as two halves of a single great work.  Both feature several instrumentals that are innovative and interesting, but I much prefer the songs featuring Bowie singing.  But “Heroes” really isn’t the right album to combine with Low–  parts of Station to Station work better.  “Stay,” and to a lesser extent, “TVC15” foreshadow darkly paranoid and indecisive songs like “Always Crashing in the Same Car” and “Breaking Glass.”  Nobody captures confusion like Bowie.  The Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go” is a great song, but it is too logical — the truly indecisive mind wanders off in spurts before circling back and forgetting the proximate topic.  That’s “Stay.”  Album: Station to Station   https://youtu.be/7tWyIug2qP0
