Day 125 | Joe the Lion

Bowie’s voice might have been at its peak on the “Heroes’ album. I think that’s evident here. The music is equally at its cutting, innovative peak, as with the other songs on this album. My one criticism is that the lyrics really seem to be about something but manage to nonetheless be inaccessible. What is he trying to get across? Yes, the “nail me to my car” is a somewhat obscure reference to a performance artist named Chris Burden, but I don’t think Chris Burden is Joe the Lion. Album: “Heroes”
