What exactly is going on in this video and how does it relate to the song? We have Gary Oldman. We have some stigmata and a lot of blood. We have what looks like a cross between a priest bar and the Creature Cantina, with Bowie as a Christ-like stage act (and not really the star of the video). The lyrics of the song are vaguely religious – or sacrilegious– but this video seems like a more explicit commentary on Christian religion. Not sure what the message is, but it’s disturbing.
